• FIRST POPS SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED
    The financial aid committee of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music has awarded the John and June Canfield Bloomington POPS Scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year. The recipient is James Keen, a trumpet performance major.

  • POPS Managing Board member Charles Webb for being named a “Living Treasure” by the Bloomington Area Arts Council 2007 Arts Leadership Awards.  The Living Treasure Award recognizes an individual artist for lifetime achievement in visual, literary or performing arts.

  • POPS supporter and chorus member Ted Jones won the BAAC Arts Advocate Award, recognizing an individual who has provided service, leadership and/or substantial support to the visual, literary or performing arts.

  • POPS VP of Development Angela Parker was recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts Tulip Trace Council in October 2006.

  • Kathy Romy, Bloomington POPS General Manager, completed the IU School of Continuing Studies Nonprofit Management Certificate.  Courses in the program include Legal Issues and Nonprofit Boards of Directors; Financial Management of Nonprofit Organizations; PR, Marketing and Branding in Nonprofits; Fundraising in Nonprofits; and Strategic Planning and Evaluation in Nonprofits.  Romy was named General Manager of the Bloomington POPS in October 2005.
