FIRST POPS SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED The financial aid committee of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music has awarded the John and June Canfield Bloomington POPS Scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year. The recipient is James Keen, a trumpet performance major.
POPS Managing Board member Charles Webb for being named a “Living Treasure” by the Bloomington Area Arts Council 2007 Arts Leadership Awards. The Living Treasure Award recognizes an individual artist for lifetime achievement in visual, literary or performing arts.
POPS supporter and chorus member Ted Joneswon the BAAC Arts Advocate Award, recognizing an individual who has provided service, leadership and/or substantial support to the visual, literary or performing arts.
POPS VP of Development Angela Parkerwas recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” by the Girl Scouts Tulip Trace Council in October 2006.
Kathy Romy, Bloomington POPS General Manager, completed the IU School of Continuing Studies Nonprofit Management Certificate. Courses in the program include Legal Issues and Nonprofit Boards of Directors; Financial Management of Nonprofit Organizations; PR, Marketing and Branding in Nonprofits; Fundraising in Nonprofits; and Strategic Planning and Evaluation in Nonprofits. Romy was named General Manager of the Bloomington POPS in October 2005.
